(P 217) Spring Grove Monthly Meeting of Friends held 1st month 18th 1876.

The Relief committee makes the following report which is satisfactory.

Corn 26 bush.

Potatoes 26

Feed 135

Beans 2 barrels

Hominy 2

Meal 500 lbs.

Money $198.00

Paid out for flour 39.35

potatoes 5.35

oats 116.14

Balance $ 14.86

Lewis Jones received $25.75 for which was bought flour, seed corn, potatoes

and one small piece of bacon and distributed.

Silas Cook requests his and family's rights of membership transferred to Bear Creek Monthly Meeting of Friends, Iowa. Jesse Beals and Nathan Morris are appointed in conjunction with similar committee of Women Friends to prepare and produce a certificate to next meeting if they find nothing to hinder.

(P 219) Spring grove Monthly Meeting of Friends held 3rd month 18th 1876.

A certificate was produced for Nathan Morris and family and one for John B. Glyuas which were directed to be signed and forwarded.

The representatives report one of them attended the Quarterly Meeting but did not receive anything in charge.

Isaac Arnold's request for certificate is directed to be left so for the present.

Jesse Beals, L. M. Stanley, L. Jones and L. H. Dunbar were appointed to solicit subscriptions to pay this Meeting's indebtedness and report in fifth month next.

This meeting concludes.

(P 220) Spring Grove Monthly Meeting of Friends held fourth month the 15th 1876. Business from the Preparative Meeting:

John Terrell requests to join Friends. After a time of deliberation thereon, his request was united with and he is united in membership with us.

Z. H. Bones and L. H. Dunbar make the same request which was united with and they are united in membership with us.

David Davis, Jesse Beals and L. H. Stanly are appointed to visit the Friends that are just joined in membership with us for their encouragement.

Isaac Cox, John and Stephen Stubs acceptably attended this Meeting whose labor of love was encouragement and we hope they may be encouraged to their whole duty.

Jesse Beals, L. H. Stanley and N. C. Averill are appointed to examine the meeting house to see if it is worth repairing and what will be the probable cost and report to next meeting.

(P 221) Spring Grove Monthly Meeting of Friends held the fifth month the 13th 1876.

The committee appointed to solicit subscriptions to pay indebtedness report money subscribed. Friends are directed to pay in to the treasurer and he is directed to forward to the Quarterly Meeting and report to next meeting.

The committee appointed to visit Friends that have just joined in membership with us for their encouragement, not ready to report, are continued to report to next meeting.

The committee appointed to examine the meeting house and make a report are continued with (the addition of) Isaac Arnold to solicit subscription for the same and report in 7th month next.

We appoint L. M. Stanley, David Davis and Z. H. Bones to propose to next meeting the names of Friend to serve this Meeting as clerk and assistant clerk.

The first, second and eighth queries were read in this meeting with answers from the Preparative Meeting and directed to be forwarded to the Quarterly Meeting in the hands of L. M. Stanley, Lewis Jones and David Davis as our representatives and they are directed to report to next meeting.

(P 222) Spring Grove Monthly Meeting of Friends held 6th month 17th 1876.

The caretakers report they attended to their appointment.

The committee appointed in case of clerks propose L. M. Stanley for clerk and Isaac Arnold for assistant clerk with which this Meeting unites and appoints them accordingly.

The representatives report they attended the Quarterly Meeting and received in charge our quota of the London Epistle which they are directed to distribute and report to next meeting.

The committee appointed in case of repairing meeting house are continued to solicit subscriptions and report in seventh month next.

Spring Grove Monthly Meeting of Friends held 7th month the 15th 1876.

The clerk not being present, Lewis Jones was appointed for the day.

The representatives report (they) distributed the London Epistle.

The committee on repairing the meeting house, not being ready to make a final report, they are continued to report to next meeting.

This meeting concludes.

(P 223) Spring Grove Monthly Meeting of Friends held 8th month 19th 1876.

The committee on Contact with Other Religious Denominations in regard to repair the meeting house make the following report.

The committee have, after conferring together, united in their decision that it would be best for all parties interested that there be no article of agreement but that an open and free subscritpion list be circulated. And that all parties have the privilege of subscribing any amount that they may wish in money or labor toward repair of house and that it be thankfully received.

The queries were all read with written answers thereto which were directed to be forwarded to our next Quarterly Meeting by the hands of Lewis Jones, Jesse Beals, L. C. White, and Z. H. Bones who are appointed as our representatives and report to next meeting.

(P 224) John _____, Enoch _____, Charles _____ and Thomas _____, members of

our Society of other localities, are very acceptably with us (and) whose labor of love has been very acceptable and they are encouraged to attend to their duties as best wisdom may direct.

Spring Grove Monthly Meeting of Friends held 9th month 18th 1876.

The clerk not being present, Isaac Arnold was appointed clerk for the day.

The committee appointed at last meeting to solicit subscriptions to repair meeting house, not being ready to report, are continued to report to next meeting.

The Friends appointed to attend the Quarterly meeting as representatives report that they all attended except one for whose absence reason was given.

The Friends appointed to take statistics, not being present, are continued to report to next meeting.

The Meeting united with Women Friends in receiving Sarah J. Bones into membership with us.

Reuben Davis, Z. H. Bones and Isaac Arnold are appointed to bring forward the names of suitable Friends to serve this Meeting as overseers and report to next meeting.

L. C. White is appointed to serve this Meeting as recorder of births and deaths.

Z. H. Bones, L. C. White, Reuben Davis, Jesse Beals, L. H. Dunbar and Isaac Arnold are appointed to have charge of the repair of Spring Grove Meeting house, receive and pay out what money they may receive for the repair of said house and report when ready.

The meeting then concluded.

(P 225) Spring Grove Monthly Meeting of Friends held 10th month 21st 1876.

The committee appointed in 8th month last to gather statistics in answer to the annual queries report they have attended thereto and produced the following. The cause of no report last month, none of the committee present.

The committee appointed in ith month last to solicit subscriptions for the repairing of the meeting house report 37 days work and $97.50 subscribed. Report was accepted and they are continued to report to next meeting.

The committee appointed at last meeting to propose the names of suitable Friends to serve this Meeting as overseers report that they are united in proposing the names of Jesse Bales (Beals) and David Davis with whom this Meeting united and they are accordingly appointed to that service.

Our esteemed Friend Edward K. Hobson, a minister of the gospel, attended this Meeting and produced a minute of unity and concurrence from Timber Hills Monthly Meeting, Cherokee County, Kansas, dated 9.9.1876.

(P 226) Our esteemed Friend Rosanna Furgason, a minister of the gospel, attended this Meeting and produced a minute of unity and concurrence from same Meeting bearing same date whose company and labors of love were truly acceptable and edifying.

Our Friend William Fergason, an Elder and companion to the aforesaid Friends, acceptably attended this Meeting and produced a minute of unity and concurrence from a committee of Timber Hills Monthly Meeting dated 10.10.1876.

Spring Grove Monthly Meeting of Friends held 11.18.1876.

The committee continued at last meeting to solicit subscriptions for the meeting house report but little done during the month. The committee is continued.

The following named Friends are appointed to attend the ensuing Quarterly Meeting as representatives and report their attendance and what may be given them in charge to next meeting: Z. H. Bones, J. Bales (Beals) and J. Terrell.

(P 227) Spring Grove Monthly Meeting of Friends held 12th month 16th 1876.

The committee appointed at last meeting to attend the Quarterly Meeting as representatives report that 2 of them attended and had nothing given them in charge.

The committee appointed in the twelfth month 1875 to produce certificates for Silas Cook and family, not having closed up the matter, Isaac Arnold is appointed in connection with said committee and they are requested to report to next meeting.
