(P 80) Spring Grove Monthly Meeting of Women Friends held at Spring Grove 6th month 19th 1875. The clerk being absent, Mary Jones was appointed for the day.

The clerk, having removed beyond the limits of this Meeting, Elizabeth Burks and Mary Jones are appointed to bring forward the name of a suitable Friend to serve this Meeting as clerk and report to next meeting.

The meeting concludes.

Spring Grove Monthly Meeting of Women Friends held at Lane 7th month 17th 1875. The clerk being absent, Mary Jones was appointed clerk for the day.

The Friends appointed in Gulia E. Johnson's case report not attended to and they are continued to report to next meeting.

The Friends appointed to forward name of Friend as clerk report not attended to. They are continued to report to next meeting.

The Friends appointed to visit Lacy Durben report they had an interview with her to good satisfaction and she wishes to retain her right of membership with us with which we are united.

Solomon Hunt and Sarah his wife request their rights of membership to be removed to Bloomfield Monthly Meeting of Friends, Indiana. Sarah Henley and Jane Durham are appointed on conjunction with a similar committee of Men Friends to prepare and produce one to next meeting.

Spring Grove Monthly Meeting of Women Friends held at Spring Grove 8th month 21st 1875.

The committee appointed to bring forward the name of a Friend to act as clerk were united in proposing the name of Cynthia Holaday with which this Meeting unites and she is appointed.

(P 81) The queries were read in this meeting with answers thereto from the following summary was taken.

1st Answer: All of our meetings for worship and discipline have been attended except one. The hour of meeting nearly observed. No unbecoming behavior to remark.

2nd A- Friends are preserved in Christian love one towards another as far as appears. Talebearing and detraction discouraged. When differences arise endeavors are used to end them.

3rd- Some care taken in requirements of that query, yet more care is desirable.

4th- We know of no complain under the 4th query.

5th- Friends are careful relative to the poor as queried.

6th- Friends are clear under the several heads of that query.

7th- Friends are careful to live within the bounds of their circumstances. No complaints under the other heads of that query.

8th- Care is taken to deal with offenders seasonably and impartially and endeavor to evince to those who will not be reclaimed in the spirit of meekness and love before judgment is placed upon them.

Annual Answers

1st Ans- None.

2nd- Schools are encouraged for the education of our children under the tuition of teachers in membership with us.

3rd- Each family of Friends are furnished with a copy of the Holy Scriptures. A few Friends are in the habit of daily reading in a collective capacity with a devotional pause. Others are negligent therein.

4th answer - They are.

(P 82) Rachel P. Stanley and Lydia Arnold are appointed representatives to the Quarterly Meeting and directed to report to next meeting and produce thereat what may be given them in charge by the Q. M.

The committee in Gulia E. Johnson's case report the appointment attended to and she wishes to retain her right of membership.

The Friends appointed to prepare a certificate for Solomon and Sarah Hunt produced one which the clerk is directed to sign.

Our beloved Friend Susannah Bales very acceptably attended this Meeting, producing a minute from Springfield Monthly Meeting, Kansas.

A part of the committee appointed to attend this Meeting and continued from last Q. Meeting. have very acceptably attended this meeting whose company and labors amongst us have been satisfactory and comforting.

The Friends appointed at last meeting as representatives to the Q. Meeting. report they attended and there was nothing given them in charge for this meeting.

Eusebia Couch, having removed and settled within the limits of Springfield Monthly Meeting, requests a certificate of her right of membership conveyed thereto. Cynthia Holaday and Lydia Arnold are appointed to prepare and produce one to next meeting.

Spring Grove Monthly Meeting of Women Friends held 11th month 20th 1875 at Lane.

The committee appointed to prepare a certificate for Eusebia Couch produced one which was read, approved, and signed.

Mary Bales (Beals) and Lydia Arnold are appointed representatives to attend the Quarterly Meeting and report to next meeting what may be given them in charge.

Spring Grove Monthly Meeting of Women Friends held at Spring Grove 12th month 18th 1875.

The Friends appointed to attend the Quarterly Meeting report they did not attend, for which satisfactory reasons were given.

This Meeting is informed that the Quarterly Meeting has thought best to comply with this Meeting's request to lay down the Preparative at Lane and that the Monthly Meeting be held at Spring Grove continuously.

Catharine M. Johnson, having removed within the limits of Northbranch Monthly Meeting, requests her right and that of her minor children conveyed to that meeting. Sarah Henley and Cynthia Holaday are appointed to prepare and produce one to next meeting.
