(P 116) The matter of recording Jesse Beals as minister was brought before this meeting in 2nd month last and was directed to the Quarterly Meeting of Ministers and Elders to be held in 3rd month, having failed to go before that meeting, it is redirected to the Quarterly Meeting aforesaid to be held in sixth month next.

Spring Grove Monthly Meeting of Women Friends held 4th month 19th 1879.

The Quarterly Meeting's Committee on the subject of Elders requests our Monthly Meeting of 5th month to adjourn until sixth day of sixth month next at 11 o'clock, it being the day before our Quarterly Meeting. They also wish to meet our Monthly Meeting Committee on the same day. Elizabeth Burks, Louisa Updegraff and Lydia Arnold are appointed in conjunction with a like committee of Men Friends to meet with them.

Read an epistle from Ohio Yearly Meeting which was satisfactory and encouraging to us.

There being no further business, the meeting concluded.

Spring Grove Monthly Meeting of Women Friends held 5th month 17th 1879.

The 1st, 2nd, and 8th queries were read in this meeting with written answers thereto which was satisfactory to the Meeting and they are directed to be forwarded to the ensuing Quarterly Meeting by Louisa Updegraff and Sarah Henley whom we appoint as representatives to the Quarterly Meeting and they are directed to report to next meeting of their attendance and what may be given them for this Meeting.

Lydia Arnold and Susannah Davis are appointed to attend the Quarterly Meeting as caretakers. They are directed to report to next meeting of their attendance.

The Meeting now adjourns to meet on the sixth of sixth month next at 11 o'clock, it being the day before Quarterly Meeting.

(P 119) Spring Grove Monthly Meeting of Women Friends held 9th month 20th 1879.

The Clerk not being present, Lydia Arnold was appointed Clerk for the day.

The Friends appointed to attend our Quarterly Meeting as representatives report that one of them attended and there was nothing given them in charge.

Read Epistles from Western and London Yearly Meetings which was strengthening and encouraging to us.

No further business, the meeting concludes.

The Clerk not being present, Louisa Updegraff was appointed Clerk for the day.

The following named Friends are appointed to bring forward the name of a suitable Friend to serve this Meeting as Clerk: Sarah Bones and Mary Beals and report to next meeting.

Spring Grove Monthly Meeting of Women Friends held 11th month 15th 1879.

The Friends appointed to bring forward the name of a suitable Friend to serve this Meeting as clerk propose the name of Louisa E. Updegraff with which this Meeting unites and she is appointed accordingly.

(P 120) Rachel P. Stanley informs this meeting that she discontinues her intention of marriage with Zechariah Cook. Sarah Bones and Mary Beals are appointed to visit her on account thereof and report to next meeting.

We received, read and accepted a certificate conveying to this Meeting the right of membership of Louisa J. Cook taken from the minutes of Richland Monthly Meeting bearing date 11 month 8th 1879. Mary Beals and Ann White are appointed on account thereof.

Rebecca Averill and Mary Beals are appointed to attend the enduing Quarterly Meeting as representatives. They are directed to report to next meeting of their attendance and what may be given in charge.

To Spring Grove Monthly Meeting held 11th month 15th 1879:

Having felt it right to join in membership with another religious society, we wish to resign our membership with Friends.
